The bed is fantastic- my 5 year old absolutely loves it and will enjoy it for a long time yet. The design is really fun and cosy; it feels just like you're in a treehouse. I love the shelf on the top bunk too- it's wider than it looks in photos and can fit lots of books and niknaks. Delivery was easy; I was able to choose the date and was kept updated regularly on the day. The delivery men kindly brought it upstairs for me as the boxes were pretty big. One of the delivery men commented that his daughter has the same bed and loves it. It took a long time to put up (2 people, 6-7 hours), but the effort was worth it. The only complaint is that some of the provided screws were too long and came through the other side of the wood. We had to fill and repaint the white window piece due to this as it left visible holes. As it's a low bunk you can't sit up fully in the bottom bunk. Not a problem for us, but just in case this is a deal breaker for anyone considering a purchase.

Questions & Answers (8)
Answers from the bedkingdom team.
is the paint used water or oil based?
The board is not painted; it is foil-laminated, so no water- or oil-based paint is used.
Can the ladder/stairs/chaise be fitted on either side (left or right)?
Most of our bunk beds, high sleepers, mid sleepers and cabin beds are not reversible; they can only be assembled as shown in the product photos. A few models have reversible ladders or drawers, so ask us about the specific bed and we'll check.
What age is this bunk bed / high sleeper suitable for?
The top bunk of a bunk bed or high sleeper isn't suitable for children under 6 because of the risk of falls. Older children, teenagers and adults can use them as long as they are within the stated weight limit (including the mattress).
What is the weight limit of this bed?
Each bed's weight limit is listed on the product page and includes the weight of the mattress. For bunk beds, the limit is per bunk. Please don't exceed the stated limit.
Can the bunk bed be split into two single beds?
Only beds described as 'detachable' can be separated into individual beds. Other bunk and triple beds can't be split.
How thick a mattress can I use / what mattress depth is recommended?
It depends on the bed; the recommended maximum mattress depth is given on the product page. For bunk beds, mid sleepers and high sleepers it is usually around 15-16 cm, so the safety rails stay effective.
What size mattress do I need for this bed?
Each bed's product page states the mattress size it needs. Most of our beds take standard UK sizes (for example Single 90 x 190cm, Small Double 120 x 190cm), and some take continental sizes (for example 90 x 200cm), so please check before ordering a mattress elsewhere.
Does the bed come with a mattress?
Beds are sold without a mattress unless the listing says one is included. Mattresses are an optional add-on you can select on the product page.
Our bunk beds are sold without mattresses; mattresses are an optional add-on (unless the listing says one is included).
