is the natural color unvarnished?

The color you see is the natural color with varnish.It's not unvarnished.

What mattress fits the Flair Elijah Detachable Bunk Bed, and is there a depth limit?

It takes a Single mattress (90 x 190 cm). The recommended mattress depth is up to 15 cm for both the top and bottom bunks.

Can I use a mattress that isn't in the dropdown on the Flair Elijah Bunk Bed?

We recommend choosing one of the mattresses in the dropdown on the product page, as these have been selected as compatible with the bed.

Can the ladder/stairs/chaise be fitted on either side (left or right)?

Most of our bunk beds, high sleepers, mid sleepers and cabin beds are not reversible; they can only be assembled as shown in the product photos. A few models have reversible ladders or drawers, so ask us about the specific bed and we'll check.

What age is this bunk bed / high sleeper suitable for?

The top bunk of a bunk bed or high sleeper isn't suitable for children under 6 because of the risk of falls. Older children, teenagers and adults can use them as long as they are within the stated weight limit (including the mattress).

What is the weight limit of this bed?

Each bed's weight limit is listed on the product page and includes the weight of the mattress. For bunk beds, the limit is per bunk. Please don't exceed the stated limit.

Can the bunk bed be split into two single beds?

Only beds described as 'detachable' can be separated into individual beds. Other bunk and triple beds can't be split.

How thick a mattress can I use / what mattress depth is recommended?

It depends on the bed; the recommended maximum mattress depth is given on the product page. For bunk beds, mid sleepers and high sleepers it is usually around 15-16 cm, so the safety rails stay effective.
